The iconic mid century Bubble Light was designed by George Nelson in 1947 and was first put into production in 1952. The Saucer pendant delicately floats overhead, providing a soft, diffused light. Inspired by a set of silk covered Swedish pendant lamps that he felt were too expensive, Nelson created his own modest orb lighting series. Rather than silk, he used a self webbing plastic developed by
