Indian Lintel Panel Of Ganesh & Elephants From Gujarat - 19thC Furniture The canework has been replacedThis intricately carved panel depicts a serene Ganesh flanked by elephants. It was salvaged from an old building that had fallen into disrepair in Gujarat and dates to the 19th century. Ganesh was the wise Hindu elephant god often found at entrances to homes. He is the remover of obstacles that get in the way of daily progress. The carving is in the classic Mughal style. The warm layers of red & ochre painting add a pop of colour to any room. Supplied
