Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension, the obverse bearing a raised and leftward facing profile of Tsar Alexander II, circumscribed by name and title in Cyrillic script, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of (FOR ZEAL), circumscribing a central ribbed ring, the obverse engraver marked .. for R. Gannemann, measuring 28. 87 mm in diameter, weighing 13. 6 grams, demonstrating surface scratching and edge bruising, a Type II medal in
