Japan, Empire. A Type 19 Cavalry Officer Parade Sword Auction Photo was glued to albumandIntroduced in 1886, the sword has a superb blade measuring 74. 5 cm with a stunning temper line that runs from the crossguard to the sharp tip of the blade; a better blade for this type of sword could not be found. Cross guard and handle in gilt brass, decorated with cherry blossoms to indicate a company grade officer, the molded grip wrapped with brass wire; the plated scabbard shows some spotting of light surface rust, but solid. Near extremely fine.
